Introducing Career Ladder

Choosing HSC subjects or a tertiary course is a challenge for every high school student.
To make informed choices students need a comprehensive knowledge of what is available, as well as an understanding of their own personality, strengths and interests. Parents also need to be aware of their son's or daughter's aptitudes, character and preferences so they can help them make sound decisions.
Career Ladder helps both students and parents make informed choices about:
  • Selection of subjects for the HSC

  • Courses available through university, TAFE and private colleges

  • Transferring from one tertiary course to another.

Career Ladder provides career coaching and counselling to meet the individual needs of students and parents.

Why Career Ladder?

Skilled guidance from Career Ladder helps young people make better decisions about the first steps in their career.
Career Ladder services are comprehensive, based on sound principles and tailored to meet individual needs.
  • Comprehensive - the major factors contributing to career choice are considered, including personality profile, aptitude evaluation, interests and special needs.

  • Principles - sound educational and psychological practices are followed.

  • Tailored - individual assessments and one-on-one counselling ensure that specific requirements are met.

Who will benefit?

Career Ladder meets the needs of three groups of young people:

Year 10 students. As they approach senior school subject selection, students need to consider the choice of their subjects for the HSC. To do this effectively they need to be aware of possible future career options.

Year 11 and 12 students. In their final years at school students need to focus more closely on the first step of their career and consider an appropriate tertiary course.

Tertiary students. Although they are already undertaking a tertiary course, students often wish to change direction, and young adults in the workforce may be considering entering a tertiary course.
